Our Story
When I was young, I used to think Delhi had mountains, only to find out later that those were the huge piles of garbage at the Ghazipur landfill, that was an eye-opening realization that marked the beginning of my journey toward sustainability. My family recently celebrated big occasions at my dad's cousin's banquets. They were joyful, with lots of food and music. One day, driven by curiosity I went behind the banquet hall and saw something so sad. Piles of discarded flowers lay in trucks. Heaps of perfectly good food abandoned in trash bins, plastic bottles, and crumpled tissues littered the ground. the aftermath of just one event shook me to my core. I couldn't help but wonder: if this was the aftermath of a single gathering of 150 people, what was the scale of waste generated by the countless Indian wedding functions held every year? That moment changed me. I felt like I had to do something, I realized small changes, like using paper straws, weren't enough.
